Purchase Print Information

I print most of the photographs on this site individually using the "ILFOCHROME" [formerly" CIBACHROME"] process which has a long standing reputation for producing the finest quality traditional fine art color photographs. Although I have used digital processes to print my work [with excellent results] , I have found personally, making a high quality print by hand completes the artistic process and is much more satisfying.

I use advanced darkroom techniques such as dodging, burning and contrast masking to individually create each print. The" LIGHTJET" process is alternately used for some of my larger works, [prints over 24x30]. This process is a combination of digital and traditional processes which also produces stunning prints.

Using the Ilfochrome and Lightjet processes produce high quality, true photographic prints. I choose the process which best suits the individual image although many of my prints are available in both processes.

The Lightjet process involves digitizing the original transparency using a high quality drum scan, which is then exposed onto traditional photographic print medium using laser light and processed in traditional chemistry. The benefit of using the Lightjet process for larger prints is that sharpness is not lost by projection and color matching can be done more precisely. The end result are large, true photographic prints of exceptional quality.

Ilfochrome "super glossy" and Lightjet polyester print material require special handling and framing techniques, however, they are much more dynamic in appearance than the pearl material and have incredible depth, giving them a 3-Dimensional look.
